The Billy Meier UFO Hoax: Introduction & Index PDF Print E-mail

During the 1970s, a Swiss farmer by the name of Billy Meier produced some of the most startling pictures and films of flying objects ever. But over the years, various research has shown that without exception, ALL of these can be proven to be fakes. You will find some of the most compelling proof of fakery on this very website.

Nevertheless, this is still one of the most enduring UFO hoax cases ever, not in the least because of its complexity and the incredible amount of work that was invested in it, and the large number of people who have been willing accomplices in letting the hoax go on, either deliberately or by being taken advantage of due to gullibleness.

From almost the very beginning that the Meier case was brought to a larger audience, he has been given support by individuals who have maliciously deceived the public when presenting the "evidence" that was produced by Billy Meier, for various reasons that may go from being financial to that of deliberately spreading disinformation in order to cover-up the existence of genuine UFOs. Such is clearly the case for documentaries about Meier like the video "Contact", and it has become most evident that Billy Meier's "official representative" Michael Horn, works very hard to limit any potential damage that could come from successful debunkers, while falsely claiming support for Meier's evidence from "experts" that are either bogus or even totally made-up!

We think that some of the individuals that are advanced as "witnesses" of certain incidents related to the Meier case certainly fall into the category of "being taken advantage of". When a witness is said to be a "key witness", and that we find that this concerns incidents the witness would have observed when being merely 9-years old, and that were only recalled at the age of well over 40, then there is all reason to believe that the individual's memory and emotion may have seriously flawed any final impression of what really happened.

In this case as well as in other cases, it can neither be excluded that some of the witnesses have made untrue statements due to being under influence of the sect like Meier cult-community. We also note that in some cases genuine UFOs may have been observed in the same region as where Meier lives, but without evidence of a link with Meier, while the witnesses describe UFOs that are very different from the objects that can be seen in Meier's pictures and film footage.

Whatever one may be led to believe about some of the "gray evidence" that has been advanced by Billy Meier and his supporters, the deception of Meier's pictures, films, and other material like the sound recording, the 6-hand fingerprints, and even a brand new "Talmud", speaks for itself, while it must be noted that the pictures that are generally available online, or published in videos and books, are the "creme of the crop", where it is the least obvious that strings have been used, or that other manipulations have been applied.

According to researcher Kal Korff, Billy Meier made his first fake UFO photograps already when he spent time in India, in the 1960s and early 1970s, long before coming out with the famous pictures of the mid 1970s. Some of these early pictures can be found in our photo galleries (see links and menu). It's fair to say that by the time Meier made his pictures public, his fakery skills were of a pretty high level for his time, and that he must have worked hard and long at perfecting them.

The ultimate argument that Meier's "official representative" Michael Horn has always been using when all other arguments would fail, is that the only way to prove that Meier's pictures and films are indeed fake, would be to reproduce them. Of course, this argument is total nonsense in it's logic, but a number of valiant debunkers have taken up the challenge with rather good successes, which, of course, would never be recognized by arch-deceiver Horn, under the pretext that only remakes that would reproduce Meier's pictures and films up to the finest details would do!

It's one thing to reproduce the main techniques that were used by Billy Meier to fake his pictures and videos, it's quite another to assemble all the key-elements that could satisfy that requirement. But we are proud to present the work of Phil Langdon who has finally achieved the "impossible". Not only did he manage to make perfect replicas of Meier's "Pleiadian Beamships", he reproduced practically ALL of Billy Meier's photographs of fake "UFOs"!!! Beter yet, he did ALL of the work with only one 1 arm, just like Billy Meier had to do!!!!

You can find all his pictures and videos on this website for free. Use the links below to find all of it in an easy way.

Our view is that the only reason why there is still a so called Meier "controversy", is simply the fact that making fake pictures of UFOs and other such material, and claiming they are genuine, are by itself not punishable by law, while certain governments have too much to hide to bring the subject of UFOs in the open, in order to allow genuine public scrutiny of it...

Many people may after a look at the material presented on this website quickly conclude that the ridiculousness of the "evidence" put forward by Meier and his supporters, is so high, that the Billy Meier case would barely deserve any attention at all. However, it must be pointed out that the case still attracts a passionate and even fanatical following from a significant number of individuals who will not let themselves be convinced by ANY relevant evidence the Meier story is nothing but a fraud. Also, many of Meier's pictures and films have found their way into books and documentaries about UFOs and related fields, not necessarily for malicious reasons, and are thus polluting the entire view that is being given on the subject.

When considering certain aspects of this case, the question remains if the Meier hoax is merely a set-up by conmen without any scrupules, or in fact a kind of psy-op/disinfo operation to discredit the subject of UFOs in general, and/or to divert attention from more genuine cases. We consider it a very real possibility... Study the links and the presentation on this website and make up your own mind!

The first video that can be found below is a summary of the recent work to reproduce the photographs and films of Billy Meier. It's not called "Beamship..." to avoid issues in reproducing names and titles that may be copyrighted. Many of the clips have not been shown in any other video before and starts with the multiple ship type photographs presented as genuine to this day. The main issue with Billy Meier photographs is the camera he used to take them and is rarely brought up in discussions concerning his "evidence." Most of the pictures shown here were taken with a 1972 Olympus ECR rangefinder camera while others were taken with a 7 Megapixel digital camera. No extra effects were added after the event and what you see is what you get. At a certain distance from the fishing line, that's holding up the model, the line completely disappears to the camera and all that registers on the print is the model, looking like it's hovering in mid air.

Billy Meier and Michael Horn with Weddingcake craft

Deceiving all the way to the bank.

People who are seriously interested in the subject of UFOs, sooner or later will stumble on the Billy Meier case. Depending on the source they will find, with a bit of bad luck, they are likely to waste a lot of their precious time on this case, for which (after careful scrutiny of the facts and evidence) there is no doubt possible it is nothing more than a very elaborate deception. It is probably THE biggest UFO "hoax" to this date, and it would certainly deserve a mention in the Guinness book of records if there was a suitable category for it, due to the sheer quantity of various fake evidence that is offered as "proof" for the authenticity of this case.

Note: this article is a follow-up to the initial article "The Billy Meier case: conclusive "smoking gun" proof of deception". If you haven't yet done so, you may wish to view that article first.

After having published on this website views and comments on the Meier case, in july 2006, and the email correspondance it provoked with Michael Horn (the "media representative" of Billy Meier) due to our conclusions that the case is nothing more than an elaborate hoax, Horn posted an article on his own website presenting yet more arguments in an attempt to "prove" that the weddingcake "craft" pictures are genuine, even though we present more than enough conclusive proof that they are 100% fake, and were made using a "false perspective" technique (see article).

UPDATE 7 July 2010: The first version of this article appeared in June 2006. It has now been completely updated with our latest, most conclusive and totally devastating findings!

For years the Meier case has fueled much heated debate within the field of Ufology. There are basically 2 reasons for this. The first reason is the sheer quantity of all sorts of "evidence" that is advanced to support the claim that Billy Meier was allegedly singled out and contacted by humanoid beings from the Pleiadian star system. The other reason is the very strong support Meier is getting from various individuals, amongst whom "coincidentally" all of the prominent defenders of this case have commercial or other material interests in it being considered authentic, due to their work as authors, film-makers, or other.
